A Roman Day Out in Deva

In March children in Year 3 of New Park School spent a great day in the Roman City of Chester. The City, which was known as Deva in Roman times, still has many of its original Roman features. The pupils visited the Deva Roman Experience museum, the Roman Gardens and the Amphitheatre. Pupil Michael Marr said, "The museum was great - we held a Roman shield, saw a Roman street, a Roman bath, and an example of an archaeological dig. I loved trying on the armour!"

In the afternoon they had lunch by the River Dee, and walked around the walls of the city.
